Introduction

Countdown plugin is useful to show the customer that our new website launching or any new upcoming event coming soon shortly. Using this plugin administrator can set a specific time and date to launch a new website or some new things that are upcoming on the website. The Countdown plugin is also called the Coming Soon plugin and Maintenance plugin. So, the Countdown plugin helps when the live website is under maintenance.

The Countdown plugin has multi features like set logo, background image, background video, background slider, count downtime via back end by the administrator. Admin can set either a digital or analog clock on the countdown page. Also, change the header and content.

The visitor can contact the administrator by providing an email using this form. Countdown plugin is social-networks-friendly, so the website doesn’t need any additional way to allow its customers to share their posts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google, LinkedIn, etc.

Installing

There are two ways to install the plugin.

Option 1: WordPress Plugin Uploader

You can install Cyno Countdown via the WordPress plugin uploader without unzipping the file. If the file that you downloaded from CodeCanyon does not seem to be a zip file, it means that your browser is automatically unzipping it when the download completes.

  1. 1. Log into your WordPress admin panel
  2. 2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  3. 3. Click Upload Plugin

  1. 4. Click Choose File and select the Cyno Countdown plugin package zip.
  2. 5. Click Install Now.
  3. 6. Complete the installation process as directed by WordPress and Activate the plugin.

Option 2: FTP

You can also install UberMenu via FTP.

  1. 1. Decompress the .zip file you downloaded from CodeCanyon.
  2. 2. Find the cyno_countdown folder (this directory is created when you unzip the file).
  3. 3. Upload the cyno_countdown folder to your wp-content/plugins directory.
  4. 4. Navigate to your Control Panel: Plugins
  5. 5. Under Cyno Countdown, click Activate

Installation Updates

Installing updates just involves replacing the old plugin files with the new ones. It's always a good idea to back everything up before you upgrade (plugin directory & database), especially if you have made any changes to Cyno-Countdown’s files, as the upgrade will overwrite all files.

How to get updates

To download the updated plugin zip, go to your CodeCanyon Downloads page and re-download the file. This will always give you the latest version of the plugin.

Backing Up

  1. 1. It is always a good idea to back up your plugin before making any changes.
  2. 2. Open your FTP program and FTP into your site and navigate to the wp-content/plugins directory
  3. 3. Download the cyno_countdown folder and save it as a backup.
  4. 4. If you have edited any files, you should back up these files

Standard Update Instructions

  1. 1. Download the new version of the plugin from CodeCanyon (the latest version can always be found on your CodeCanyon Downloads page.
  2. 2. In your browser, log into the WordPress control panel.
  3. 3. Navigate to Plugins.
  4. 4. Deactivate Cyno Countdown (optional, but generally a good idea, especially if you are deleting the old version in step 6)
  5. 5. Switch to your FTP program, FTP into your site and navigate to the wp-content/plugins directory.
  6. 6. After backing up delete Cyno Countdown (the entire cyno_countdown folder). Strictly speaking, this is optional, but makes the upload process more straightforward. You can also overwrite the old files if you prefer. (Please check for version-specific upgrade instructions; sometimes a deletion is strongly recommended).
  7. 7. On your desktop, extract the zip file you downloaded from CodeCanyon.
  8. 8. The archive unzips to a new cyno_countdown/ directory.
  9. 9. FTP the new cyno_countdown/ folder into the wp-content/plugins directory on your server.
  10. 10. Ensure that your permissions are set properly on the plugins/cyno_countdown directory. If your server can’t read the files, you might run into errors. This can happen depending on how your FTP account is set up.
  11. 11. Switch back to your browser and go back to the Plugins panel
  12. 12. Reactivate Cyno Countdown by clicking Activate

Cyno Countdown Settings

1. General Settings

  • Enable: Enable/Disable plugin
  • Countdown Type: Select Countdown Type. A Countdown Type can either be Fixed Image, Slider Images, or Video
  • Clock: Select Clock. A Clock can either be Digital Clock or Circular Clock
  • Logo: Set a header logo for your site. if you don't select then display default logo
  • Logo width: Add logo width as per adjustment. if you don't add then it used default 100
  • Date & Time: Countdown date & time
  • Title: Title for display on the page
  • Description: Description for display on the page
  • Footer Copyright text: Footer Copyright text display on the page
  • Enter Allowed IPs:: Allow access filter by IP. Enter IP Address with comma(,) separated

2. Fixed Image

  • Fixed Image: If you've selected Countdown Type to Fixed Image then Fixed image used as background. If you don't select the fixed image then use a default image as a background.

3. Slider Images

  • Slider Images: If you've selected Countdown Type to Slider Images then slider images(Slide One, Slide Two and Slide Three) used as background. If you don't select the Slide image then use a default image as a background.

4. Video

  • Video: If you've selected Countdown Type to Video then video used as background. If you don't select the video then use a default video as a background.

  • Choose Favicon: Set favicon for your site.
  • Page title: Page Meta Title.

Newsletter Form Settings

  • Enable: Enable/Disable newsletter form.
  • Title: Set newsletter form title.
  • Email Field Label: Set newsletter form email field placeholder.
  • Button Label: Set newsletter form submit button label.
  • Sucess Message: Set newsletter form sucess message.

Maill Settings

  • Sender Name: This mail from name is used for all kind of emails.
  • Sender Email: This mail from address is used for all kind of emails.

Welcome Maill Settings

  • Enable: Enable/Disable Welcome Maill.
  • Subject: This mail subject for Welcome Mail.
  • Message: This mail Message body for Welcome Mail. You can use {blogname},{email} variable in Welcome Mail

Admin Notification Settings

  • Enable: Enable/Disable Admin Notification.
  • Admin Email: Reciver email address for Admin Notification.
  • Subject: This mail subject for Admin Notification.
  • Message: This mail Message body for Admin Notification. You can use {email},{ip},{blogname} variable in Admin Notification
